A lowland to mountain forest tree. NZ’s Honeysuckle is named the Rewarewa, a tall handsome tree with intricate spiralled flowers and glowing red wood. The warmth of the wood is reflected in the honey yielded from its flowers. Intense and seasoned, the rich red honey has smoky complex flavours complemented with a clean sweet finish. It is wonderful in baking and marinades.
